Chigozie Orusa from Nempi, Oru west local government area Imo state, alleged to be mentally unstable was burnt to death by angry youths of his community after he killed 9 people, 7 of whom are family members.
The man identified as Chigozie Orusa was burnt to death after he killed 9 people in Nempi, Oru west local government area Imo state.
According to reports, Chigozie, a trader in Onitsha who suddenly developed a mental illness. His friends in Onitsha had taken him back to his family compound in Nempi where he has been under the care of his family.
Unfortunately, his mental illness became worse and in the early hours of December 8th 2019, Chigozie macheted 9 people to death. Out of the 9 people he killed, 7 were his family members. They are his grandfather, 3rd wife of his grandfather and five of his cousins. The other two victims were neighbors.
Reacting to the killings, angry youths in the community set Chigozie ablaze.
